Job Description

Overview Ingram Micro is a leading technology company that delivers products and services to the IT ecosystem worldwide. The Safety and Security Manager (SSM) serves as the primary authority for safety and security across the Distribution, Returns, and Configuration Centers in the United States. Responsibilities Manage the Safety program and Corporate Security Program to ensure compliance and proper documentation. Audit monthly facility inspections, document findings, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are taken. Maintain inspection documents for a minimum of three years. Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses (RCCM), and implement corrective/preventive actions. Oversee safety audits, inspections, and emergency drills to evaluate workplace safety standards. Assist with the development and delivery of training programs, including manual handling, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response. Implement safety culture initiatives such as behavioral safety programs and employee engagement strategies. Create a positive workplace culture with annual initiatives such as I AM Safe and RUOK days. Promote health benefits of good work and encourage positive workplace relationships. Communicate Safety Performance and updates through committees, meetings, town halls, toolbox talks, induction training, notice boards, and the intranet. Conduct Post Incident Review processes for all incidents per the Safety Incident/Injury Management Process. Notify stakeholders and executive leaders once an incident is registered in Safety Champion. Ensure sufficient first aid resources are in place. Audit accident, loss, and theft reports, analyze trends, and conduct investigations. Identify preventative measures, present recommendations, and implement corrective action plans. Chair the Health & Safety Committee comprised of associates from each department; post minutes by the fifth day of the following month. Ensure safety and security huddles are conducted and recorded via a Class Training Record. Manage various aspects of the workers’ compensation program; communicate with HR, carrier, clinic, and workers to facilitate care and treatment. Serve as the contact for safety inspections by regulatory agencies and security audits by U.S. Security Services. Ensure the facility meets all federal, state, and local safety regulations and Ingram Micro safety and security policies. Maintain a disciplinary action log for associates who violate these standards. Serve as the primary liaison with local police, fire, and other government agencies; ensure they are familiar with the facility in case of an emergency. Implement emergency action plans and schedule regular evacuation drills. Develop and maintain knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures for receiving, stocking, inventory control, order picking, and shipping. Interface with department managers to monitor compliance with operational policies and procedures. Develop go-to contacts in each operational group for security-related issues. Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring systems are maintained, operational, and adequately covered. Audit contract security personnel activities and serve as the primary liaison with the local contract services company to ensure compliance with Ingram Micro policy. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) WHS compliance score and audit pass rates. Reduction in workplace incidents and lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR). Effectiveness of emergency response plans and incident resolution times. Employee safety and security training completion rates. Incident response time and resolution efficiency. Security policy compliance and risk mitigation success. Successful implementation and compliance with RTW programs. RTW compliance and program effectiveness reporting. Reduction in workers' compensation claims and costs. Increased percentage of employees returned to work within target timelines. Leading Indicator Index compliance targets. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., criminal justice, security management, public safety, criminology, business) or high school diploma with equivalent education and safety and security experience. Minimum five years of prior security experience in a supervisory role. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and common terminology. Knowledge of basic physical security systems, such as CCTV, alarms, access control, and fire life safety. Ability to interface with people at all levels, communicate ideas clearly, and maintain composure and calmness. Strong interpersonal, written, oral, and problem‑solving skills. Basic typing skills and proficiency with a PC, including Excel and Microsoft Word. Compensation The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,800.00 – $137,300.00 per year. The applicable base pay range will depend on the employee’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan.
