REGISTERED NURSE P11
This is the experienced level Registered Nurse position. This position performs a full range of nursing assignments in a full functioning capacity. It provides general nursing care services within the legal scope of nursing practice and standards developed by the profession, the Nurse Practice Act, and regulatory agencies. This position delivers nursing care through the application of policies, procedures, standards and protocols within the Registered Nurse scope of practice. Independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on services or programs. Guidelines may be available but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.
REGISTERED NURSE 12
This is the senior level Registered Nurse position at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry. The role conducts advanced level physical and mental assessments of patients, formulates nursing diagnoses, interaction strategies and contributes the nursing role to patients’ interdisciplinary care plan/Individualized Plan of Service (IPOS). Responsibilities include administration of medication using advanced assessment skills, organization, planning and implementation of patient‑oriented activities including physical health programs for patients, and social, psychoeducational and other group therapy sessions. The position performs advanced level nursing functions in the clinical area.

Education
Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
Experience
Registered Nurse P11: No specific type or amount is required.
Registered Nurse 12: One year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.
Registered Nurse 12 (alternative qualification): Possession of a master's degree in nursing or possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing and six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Possession of a Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse.
