DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Meal Transporter, you will be responsible for maintaining the immobile and sick elderly in their homes as long as possible by delivering hot, nutritious meals daily, ensuring their well-being via face-to-face interactions. Work involves maintaining detailed service rosters, delivering meals using the shortest route, and inspecting the quality and quantity of food. You will also be required to notify the office if a client requests to discontinue services, if they have changes in their health or condition, and if there are any unusual circumstances in their living conditions. Additional responsibilities include:
- Ordering meals for the following day
- Attending meetings as required
- Possibly handling up to 40 meals per day
- Wearing an ID badge while delivering meals
- Loading 20 to 30 pounds of insulated containers into your vehicle at the beginning of your shift
- Maintaining the vehicle in a safe and sanitary condition
- Climbing up and down stairs
Work Schedule and Additional Information: - Part-time employment
- This position is a Meal Transporter Substitute and will work for approximately six weeks to learn all the routes. Once trained on the routes, the candidate will be on an on-call basis as needed.
- Work hours are approximately 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Hours are subject to change depending on weather, route, or driving conditions.
- Note : Selected candidate must use their own personal vehicle to deliver meals. In addition to the hourly rate, selected candidate will receive the current IRS mileage rate.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: - Six months of experience which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement: - You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Condition of Employment: - No suspension of driver's license within the last three years.
