Location: St. Rose Convent/FSPA land on St. Joseph Ridge Hours: part-time We are looking for interns who are ready to put their experience and expertise to work. Someone who is eager to learn more about organic gardening techniques and sustainable practices. We are looking for an intern for our organic garden located at the FSPA land on St. Joseph Ridge, eleven miles east of La Crosse on Highway 33.The gardens not only produce abundant, high-quality fruits, vegetables and herbs but they also serve as educational models and direct experiences for others. You would: assist with garden preparation, planting, weeding, field clean up, mulching, pruning, tilling, and other tasks around the garden, greenhouse and orchard as needed, harvest a large variety of mixed vegetables and fruits, assist with washing, culling and packing produce as needed and deliver to other sites, develop proficiency in regenerative agriculture, sustainable gardening practices and sharing techniques with others, collaborate with the garden manager, other interns and volunteers as needed to organize and support events in the garden, greenhouse and orchard spaces and attend weekly garden team meetings, team-building activities, and organizational trainingas necessary. Qualifications: A team player and good communicator with a flexible attitude and demonstrated eagerness to learn; Willingness to interact intergenerationally and inter-culturally; Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; Ability to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to work effectively and efficiently, follow instructions, work with others, and pay attention to details. Preferred education: Completing coursework in a field that may include agriculture, horticulture, dietetics, community health, recreation management, education, environmental studies, sustainability, and climate resilience or another related field. This part-time position pays $18/hour and requires approximately 10 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during the semester or summer, as it relates to school. Occasional evenings, early morning, and a rotation of weekends will be required.The positionends December 1.
