Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. We need clinicians in all the five boroughs. The ideal candidate will provide behavioral therapy and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves conducting assessments, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with families and healthcare professionals to promote positive behavioral outcomes. The Behavioral Specialist will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care within a day habilitation program, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans based on diagnostic evaluations and assessments.
• Conduct behavioral therapy sessions utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques tailored to each client's needs.
• Collect, analyze, and document data related to patient progress and treatment efficacy.
• Perform patient assessments, including intake evaluations, to determine appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education staff and healthcare providers, to coordinate care strategies.
• Maintain thorough and accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate families and caregivers on behavior management strategies and progress updates.
• Monitor patient safety and provide patient care that respects individual dignity and confidentiality.
• Stay current with developments in behavioral health, autism spectrum disorder interventions, and related fields.

Skills

• Proven experience with behavioral therapy, especially applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Strong background working with, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other disabilities.
• Excellent data collection skills for tracking behavioral progress and treatment outcomes.
• Knowledge of special education principles and diagnostic evaluation processes.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, patient assessment procedures, and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in clinical or educational settings.
• Compassionate patient care skills with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
